I have a Sanyo 8100 and it will not power on. The red LED light stays on. Can one help me with this problem?

have you tried just pulling the battery out and putting it back in? sounds like a software lock up. and the only way to reset the phone is by removing the battery

Yes, I tried to put another battery in there, but it still will not power on.

The simple fix for a 8100 model is to get a newer phone..

That model is been around for waaaaaay too long. You need to be looking into something like the 8300, the LG-225, A840 and many other models..

My 8100 one day was on low battery it was giving me the warning to charge. I said when I get inside my house I will charge it. But when I got into my house I forgot. When I finally remembered to do it. I went to charge the phone it never turned back on not even after I had it sitting there charging. It never came back on. Yours may end up doing that. I didn't have another battery to check it with. I ended up getting a different phone. I still one day want to check and see if I can get it to turn back on because if it does then I will give it to my dad. I am going to have it fixed by sprint. I really don't want to pay all that money out of pocket but it is long since it has been under warranty.

I also think it was the battery.

Battery or not, this phones are very old.. You can get a much better phone for your father for free or very cheap assuming you will setup a new account for him..

The 8100 is still a good phone. Phone age is irrelevant. If the device functions, no sense in upgrading. It has vision and a camera.

And telling somebody who has a problem to "..get a newer phone" really doesn't help much. Some people either can't afford to upgrade or they don't want to. Either way, upgrading is not always the answer.
