HELP!!! So i went to wal-mart(Nokia 6682 content)...

So I went to my local wal-mart today to see if they had any of the Nokia 6682's instock. To come to find out they did. So I bought one with out the contract thinking that it would be unbranded and it wasn't. I tried it out and it erased my call log after i turned it off and turned it back on(that is why i wanted the unlocked version).

The question is, Will wal-mart let me return the phone and get my money back? I did not mess with any of the contents, other then the battery and phone. When i bought the phone I asked her if I could and she said she was not sure.

There should be no reaso why I shouldn't be able.

they should have some kind of return policy... I do not see why you wouldn't be able to return the phone.

Ok.

I am going to go return it tomorrow and will probably buy one from Nokia.com

Don't be put off by the price at nokiausa.com. It says $499 but when you add it to your cart without contract it only costs $369 ... you'll be buying it through letstalk.com through their partnership. But, you can't go to letstalk directly to buy the 6682. So, unbranded nokiausa.com is your only bet.
Good luck.

It doesn't do that for me.

I went to Nokiausa.com and clicked on the 6682 and then clicked buy it. When it went to my cart it still had the $499 price.

So then i went back end clicked Buy with plan and rebates. It seems like i can't buy an unlocked phone form them. Even when i click on PHONE ONLY on NOKIA/LetsTalk it still gives me the price $249

I have a feeling that that if I buy the $249 phone from LetsTalk that it might be just like the phone I got from Wal-Mart and be branded to Cingular. I could be wrong though.

If i am doing something wong let me know

The only sure way to buy an unlocked/unbranded phone is to buy straight from the factory;i.e. this means from Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, you get wherte i am going with this. Now if your reason for changing out the phone is because of the deletion of call records, well a buddy of mine has the unbranded version and it does exaclty the same as my branded version. Buyer beware.

Oh really? This is the first that heard of an unbranded one doing the same thing that the Cingular branded one does. Bizzare......

Odd. I just did this a few days ago and got the results I described. I'm not sure what to tell you.
Since letstalk doesn't have any 6682's available to purchase through its site for Cingular, I wouldn't assume that you wouldn't get an unbranded version.
From what I can tell, you're getting it from Nokia and letstalk is handling the transaction.
I'll have to try the process again and see what happens. I've done it at least three times in the past week and gotten the $369 price.
