8900 - telus

oka, so my 8900 is messed up. i tried loading pics, ringtones and a startup pic onto it (bitpim & brewsky 8900). neither of them worked. so then i went to settings>security>erase all>do more. then it restarted my fone, the telus startup pic appeared, then the screen showed this:

Please wait,
User data is being
restore....[7]

then it continues to restart... and repeat itself. i think other ppl have this problem too... and searchin the forum gave me no luck.

i was wondering if i could sumhow get it to load on bitpim, delete everything, or whatevers necessary, on there (yes i kno im not supposed to delete using bitpim) then copy all the files back into my phone. (my sister has a 8900 i could get the files from)
please help, as any sort would be greatly appriciated. thanks 2 all!

It's possible to reflash the phone with a backup of Telus 8900 f/w, but doing it via CUPST and a data cable probably won't work. I think it requires a JTAG cable, and a JTAG application to write the f/w to the phone.

If exchanging/returning is an option, it would be an easier one.
