Hi I won a Treo 650 WOW LUCKY ME!!!!!

My only problem is this phone is an Earthlink Wireless Phone.... I called Verizon.. they say the Serial number wont work with Verizon!! is there anything I can do???? Thanks ahead of time!!!!

What if i do this "Unlocking" That the web talks about ...what is that exactly?

It could be that the Earthlink one is a GSM version and Verizon is CMDA. GSM won't work on Verizon.

The first rule of "unlocking" is you don't talk about "unlocking". lol Just kidding. Although, I don't think discussions about unlocking phones are allowed on this forum

Both the Earthlink and Verizon are CDMA. Earthlink uses the Sprint network. However, neither Verizon nor Sprint will accept ESN's that are not in their database. That is why you were told the phone could not be used on Verizon.

I contacted Sprint before I got my Treo 650 and was told that the Earthlink phones would not work on the Sprint network. As suggested u should probably try to sell it and get one that will work on ur network of choice.

Sell it on eBay. You may get more for it than the cost of a phone with Verizon after rebate.
