i870 or treo 650?

I have been with Nextel for about 4years, always been happy with the service and coverage. My contract ran out last month. Nextel is offering me an i870 for 149.99, a belt clip (yippey) and a car charger for $4 more, and an 800 outgoing minute plan with unl incoming for 59.99 month. I was dead set on getting this deal but now I see on Cingular where they are selling a refurb Treo 650, which was the phone I fell in love with a few months ago when I read all of the specs on it, for 139.99 w/2yr agreement. So, I could spend 10 bucks more and stay with Nextel, or go with Cingular who I really know nothing about as far as coverage. I can try out Cingular for 30 days, but if I cancel I'm still out my activation charge plus any airtime I've used on the plan. One of the main things I want in a phone is the ability to dial by voice, by just saying the numbers, not the contact name, and I don't think the 870 can do that, but the Treo 650 can do just about anything if you download the right software to do it. Other things are important too, the video capture function is something else I want, the 870 has a better camera for that than the Treo.

Any suggestions??

You are comparing apples to oranges.

Decide which service provider suits you best first. Then worry about the phones.

They are also very different phones. The i870 is a phone, the Treo is a smartphone/pda. They are also very different in size. I agreewith lgreenberg, the carrier is most important. If the Treo on Cingular doesn't get service where you need it, it's useless. Sprint also offers the Treo 650, so you may want to consider them too.

Yeah, I'm trying out Cingular for 30 days to see how it goes to test the coverage out before I cancel my Nextel. We'll see....
