I guess I'm the new guy...

Just received the call from Cingular HR today that I am being offered the part time position that I interviewed for this past Saturday. This will be in addition to my current full time sales job.

While I am definitely a little nervous about balancing jobs and my sanity, I am extremely excited at the opportunity. My current full time job is similar - quotas, commission, etc. (different type of market/product though) so I'm pretty confident that I'll be sucessful.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to starting (and my COU phone) and making some extra money. I've already been lurking here for a while, so I'll probably start adding to the conversations once I get on board.

Well let be the first to welcome you to the club :P It is actually a pretty easy and fun place to work if you do it correctly, plus you get an orange sticker from the hofo members for being nice

Welcome aboard, Udonkey!

I was just hired too, and tomorrow (Thursday) is my first day on the job.

Is anyone here taking any bets on how long they'll be on board before some BS gets handed down to them and kills their excitement?

I kid, I kid.

Welcome on guys, lets hope you don't get jaded.

I don't anticipate it - like I said, this will be my second job. For my full time employment, I'm a sales manager for Dell, so I really like what I'm doing, just looking for some additional income. I can see myself fitting in quite well at Cingular, as its very similar to what I already do for a living, just a different product.

Not to mention the fact that Dell doesn't cover my phone expenses and I've averaged ~$150 a month over the past 15 months on my cell phone bill, so I'm definitely excited to get a break there.

I just got off the phone with the HR rep and I am pleasantly surprised at the wage they offered (union position). He'll be overnighting the offer letter to me tonight, I should be going for my drug screen tomorrow, and I'll hopefully be able to get started in the next week or 2.
