Is there a GPS 911 locator chip in the MPx220? Is there any third party software in the offing that would display this positioning information?

Good! Another stick in the eye of 'Big Brother'. It could be a helpful feature but one that could also be abused if it can't be turned on or off by the phone's owner.

doesn't e911 provide relatively the same information? the phone's postion is determined by three of the nearest towers?

motorolla have relaesed a phone with gps satnav built in but it aint tne mpx 220 thats for sure
