Quick SMT question. (Sounds)

I have a few sounds I saved to my phone (midi, mp3, wav, etc) The problem is I can use any sound I want as a ringtone, but not for anything else, such as text message alert, reminders, email alert... Has anyone experienced this? Because I have some killer sounds I want to use as alerts, but can't seem to do it.

wheny ou are setting up a contact, you can choose the sms ringer for that contact. Some goes for when you set up an alert time..you should be able to select the tone in the setup screen for the alert

The sounds that came with the phone can work with any alert.

When I upload sounds to the phone, only a few will work for any alert, and usually the ones that are midi cannot be used for anything other than a ringtone.

If you put mp3's in the the sounds folder in your application folder you can use these only for ringtones. If you put midi files, they can be used on any of the other alerts, at least on my smt 5600. I checked this out.
