Hi all!
I guess i have a problem with my SMS message size. The phone is splitting SMS messages, even if its smaller the 160 chars

How can I solve this?

Method 1 didnt work

try using moto4lin. run p2ktools in p2k mode on th ebackground so that the moto4lin can detect the phone in p2k mode also, else it will be in AT mode.

be careful in using the moto4lin because of the offset after 09H because what wat written in moto4lin is 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 instead of 0A, 0B, 0C, 0D, and so on...

i guess you cannot solve that coz it's network dependent. you can write long sms more than 160 chars depending on your phone's sms capability but still it will be split into 160 chars per sending. therefore if u wrote 200 chars sms, it will be sent in 2 separate msgs.

maybe you've installed it the wrong way. you must install the mpt first then plug the cable to the pc only when asked by the mpt.

you should've read the "read me first" on the installation cd.

doing it again the right way won't fix the problem. you have to delete "inf" files in windows/system directory that's related to motorola hardware. it's bit complicated....

But the phone is splliting really small messages, like 60 chars

I guess Its a phone configuration issue.
Is there any seem edit to set sms size?

try this seem edits:

0032_001 offset 44 bit 2: SMS: MO Concatenation (1 on, 0 off) &
offset 7f bit 0: Message > Message Setup > MMS Message Setup, Size Limit (1 on, 0 off)

Only Problem is: "iTunes is not suported in this platform" You can fix it & have 100songs iTunes working! To fix iTunes to work on your phone you will must to edit your "PDS"... It isn't so easy.... so if you don't know how to do that then use "LightPlayer" or audio player.....

Last night, I kinda messed up my mma-ucp and the iTunes were not there. In a moment of panic, I used BG_ROKR_MP again to flash and I expect that I will need to go through the iTune process again to get the iTunes working again. I was also worried that reflashing BG's MP would make my e398 a paperweight.

However, after the flashing the MP, I was pleasantly surprised that the iTunes is working w/o the iTunes process! The songs stored in the TF card could be read and played.

It seems that the iTunes is not affected by the flash.

This is a good MP except for one issue. The keyboard lights remain on after receiving an SMS and I need to press the key to turn it off. Its a real drain on the battery if I leave it unattended and someone SMS in. How do I make it not leave the keyboard lights on?
