when you turn on and off the phone the sound it makes is very loud, but the ringtones aren't.. has anyone found a way to fix this?

There are some SEEM edits you can do to increase the volume...but a word of caution - it does void your warranty.

1. Go to Start - Settings - Profiles.
2. Highlight Normal and press the right softkey.
3. Select Edit from the context menu.
4. Make sure you have Loud selected from Ringtone.
5. If you want the starup/shutdown sounds to play at a lower volume, set the System Sound setting to something like 3 or 2.
6. Press the left softkey "Done".
7. You may want to fix this in other profiles you may use, like Outdoor or Headset. Just be careful with loud ringtones on the Headset profile if you use a wired (non-Bluetooth) headset.

Finally, keep in mind that in the MPx220, MP3 ringtones don't have as much volumen as WAV files, which is what the startup/shutdown use. You may want to convert your MP3 ringtones to WMA, which play with a louder volume.

By the way, SEEM editing doesn't apply to Windows Mobile phones. Only phones with Motorola's proprietary OS can be SEMM edited.

the system volume was on 2 and the sound the phone makes is so loud you can hear it through the wall in a closed room haha..
ill test out the wav file.. ive had this phone forever but i never really done anything with it.. i just flashed it to the newest asain rom and that seems to work really good.. can you change the ouside picture when the flip is open to something other then the blue motorola M?

yeah i just tested a wav file vs mp3 and it was no different, both on loud.
