since the rom update doesn't i.d. its changes and the site allows download of the app, maybe it addresses that issue??? too late for me to attempt since i bought westtek's latest suite compatible with spwm5. (i know you can work around the file association issue very simply but i was impatient since i screw my phone up tweaking it and often cold-boot). |

p.s. the phone is a nice evolution of the 5600. had it almost 2-weeks and the only bug i can't get worked out is the damn "push" feature of xpressmialpe doesn't work. it did up until a few days ago and i'm waiting on seven to respond to the service ticket put in by cingular's help"less" desk. |

However, I suspect this isn't your issue, since [stupidly] the phone drops the data connection anytime you put it into keylock mode. |

To download the right version: It isn't listed, but it works on my 2125 if you download the midlet by selecting "other" carrier, "generic" phone, and "Advanced MIDP2". |

(She had a specific number, but I didn't write it down). She said they will be getting a shipment of 1200 phones on January 2nd, and if that supply did not take care of my order, they would be receiving 4000 additional units on January 4th. So, if this info is correct, and if the deliveries come in as scheduled, then all of our backorders should be resolved very soon. She also noticed that my additional charge for priority USPS had been waived, which is a nice gesture from Cingular. So that's the latest I have heard-- discount its accuracy based upon your experience with Cingular's service. Happy New Year! |

I will say that I'm just about to cancel my order and wait for the forced migration. I'm beginning to not care or give a rats behind about this 2125. If mine isn't shipped by the 4th. I'm cancelling and waiting till they force me to migrate. This whole thing is bull-crapola. |

I got the $349 price by calling 611 on my phone. The CS rep was not aware of the 2125, but was willing to check things out and found the $349 price. That price DOES qualify for the $100 rebate (if you have a $39+ voice plan and an unlimited data plan OR unlimited data FEATURE, meaning the $19.99 MediaNet [and PROBABLY the grandfathered $19.99 MediaWorks unlimited]. PLEASE NOTE: This was for an end-of-contract upgrade. I ASSUME that the price would be the same for a new customer, but folks should specifically confirm that before joining me in my assumptions. I am enough of a techno-geek that I want to be free to switch to a newer technology before too long. TWO YEARS would have been too long, so I paid the extra $50 to cut that commitment to only one year. Seems like a reasonable trade-off. Of course, my phone is still on backorder, but I expect it by Friday [crossing fingers]. -pablito |

Accessories always take a while to come out for devices. Thats just the way it is....well device specific accessories that is. The Cingular Accessory Superstore has some cases but they are generic pouches that will fit the phone.

Something strange. I ordered the Moto HT820 the Bluetooth stereo headset with the A2DP. It comes with a Moto mini USB plug. That plug won't charge my SMT5600. Yet the plug that came with my SMT5600 charges my HT820. Go figure. I thought mini USB power was mini usb power regardless. I guess not. I hope my SMT5600 plug doesn't blow out my headset. I'm waiting for a silicone sleeve for my 2125...if I ever get the freakin phone. I had the sleeve for my SMT5600 and it worked GREAT. I wonder how they will incorporate the humpty dumpty in the sleeve. |

How many 5600 accessories can still be used by the 2125, I dunno-- though I expect that there are folks on HoFo who have both phones and can chime in. And it would be handy for us to know which AudioVox 5600 accessories we can buy for our 2125, without having to wait for the accessory manufacturers to catch up with the 2125 market. (I am tempted by pcman's example of buying a 5600 Krusell case and trying to stretch it over the 2125's "hump", but am worried about the tension it would place on both the case and the phone....) |

So far the phone, including taxes, is just under $150 on my bill. This was ordered through the migration line from Blue to Orange. Has anyone else gotten wierd pricing and offers that way? Cingular is starting to resemble Comcast - decent service, but customer service staffed with untrained monkeys and technical wizards, you just never know which one you'll get when you call. |
