I know that Audiovox is the manufacturer for the sidekick II, PV 100. However, i can't find any info on who is the manufacturer for the SK color. Any help? I'm trying to see if the manufacturer can repair my phone at a reasonable cost ~ $100.00 (i.e out of warranty)

my sidekick II pv-100 was manufactured by sharp. maybe try checking with them or danger directly.

The original sidekick B/W and color devices were manufactured for Danger under an OEM agreement with Flextronics. Flextronics typically doesn't do repair work outside of their OEM agreement. You can give them a shot but I wouldn't keep your hopes up.

i think all the SK II's are made by sharp. AudioVox made the first SK in color. u got it the other way around.

on howardchui theres a article about how danger will be using sharp AND audiovox for further devices.

I know the Danger Hiptop 2 is made by Sharp, but we send our hiptop 2's to Audiovox/UTS Starcomm for any repair work, because sharp does not have a service centre... I will check tomororw if we can ship Hiptop 1's to there as well.

Well, here is the exact link that audiovox/UTstarcom repairs the SK II

http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/...13648&langId=-1

They also repair the audiovox 5600, sharp tm150, and most of the pocket pcs

Paolo, hopefully they say yes. if not, i have a rather odd looking paperweight.
