I've been wanting to get into this kind of stuff to make my phone faster/better, but everytime i look at a guide or anything it says in big scary lettters that you can screw up your phone for good if you do this. How many people on here have fryed a phone trying to flash and all that, and are there any 100% safe ways to do it? other than just being careful, because theres no way i trust myself enough with a 250$ phone.

All I can say is in the guides there a directions and follow those directions very carefully, look them over with a fine tooth comb. I was once scared to flash or flex but I said if it gets fried, put in flash mode and use a monster flash to bring it back to normal. There were never times where my phone was "fried" but it was frozen or wouldn't turn on. But in the end my phone still worked perfectly. Also, back up everything you want or like about your phone, seems, numbers, media files, whatever it is you do it, no matter how long it takes.

so as far as the phone goes, theres always a way to bring back the original firmware if you somehow screwed it up? so like i can't completely ruin my phone, it just may be out of commission for a few days? i always thought that i could like destroy the phone iteslef and it couldn't be used anymore.

Dont fool yourself...you can waste your phone completely.

Make sure you backup anything you mod on your phone..

Read all the sites in my sig and read them again.

The biggest mistake people make is rushing ...pick the wrong flash or flex, delete the wrong file, etc etc ...

So make sure you know whats going on when you click START or DELETE.
