1.) 21%
2.) Assuming you meant Limited Inc. 17% ... nothing for A&F specifically.
3.) 18%

You may only qualify for this discounts if verification of employment is done. Also, the account holder must be the employee.

lockheed martin

20%

County of Los Angeles, California ---> 18%

What about Gap, Inc?

Posted by: FyrFytr

I called VZW, and they told me that as a Washington D.C. firefighter, I'd only get 8%, as they had nothing specific for me.

Does anyone know anything else? All the people that I work with get upwards of 20% off via Sprint/Nextel.

Thanks,
Greg

I just started with BAE Systems, formerly known as United Defense, formerly known as FMC (Ground Systems Division.) I see Lockheed people get 20%, nice.

I'm a new hire so I don't want to get in trouble with IS for giving out my email to anyone at random or a company that may share my info to "trusted partners."

Also, assuming I do qualify for a discount, can it be used in conjunction with the NE2 credit?

Anyone know about working discounts for UGA/NASE(National Association For the Self Employed/MEGA Life and Health Insurance

My B2B representative says that the discount percentage depends on how many VZW phones are activated under that company. Both personal employee phones as well as corporate business phones (billed to the company) count.

From what I was told, because the corporate discounted pricing on phones is lower than the retail pricing on phones for new activations, you cannot apply the NE2 credit to a phone purchase through the corporate extranet site. If you talk to someone on the phone, they may be able to finagle it through.

My Mom is elderly and has Verizon Wireless. She worked for Raytheon for almost 30 years - could she get any kind of discount being a "previous" employee??
Thanks.

Posted by: jseah

No, the corporate discounts are only for current employees. Technically, if you get a corporate discount and subsequently stop working for the company, you're supposed to let Verizon know and they would then remove the discount. In practical use though, who would do that, and how would Verizon know? The company wouldn't contact Verizon and let them know that you no longer work for them.

Do they give additional discount off equipment?

Posted by: jeepoffire

I just started service in October with Verizon after not having a cell for over 3 years, kinda nice to be back on the bandwagon. I asked them and they said I would receive a 15% discount. I had to fill out the corporate discount employer verification form and fax them that with a copy of my I.D. or recent paystub. I have yet to see this reflected on my bill though. I called and they said they would take care of it within a few days. I will keep my fingers crossed.

There are several different Bechtel discounts. The division I work for gets 8%.

So, how do I apply one of these? Don't I have to fax something to some number and they'll fax me back a form to fill out and fax back it (signed or something by the employeer)?

Usually there is a link somewhere on your company Intranet site where you can sign up or you can fax them a copy of your paystub and or badge..Usually takes 30 to 60 days for the discounts to reflect....

What kind of discount does Verizon employees get?

Posted by: lovenewphones

You can call and request form 1-866-425-5284 to be faxed to you or visit
www.verizonwireless.com/ryl to print it of the website. Farther instructions are on the form. It will take up to 60 days for the discount to show on your billing statement. Also after you have faxed back required info, follow-up call to customer service is recommended, to make sure verizon had received your discount form and your request is being processed.

Posted by: lovenewphones

Yes %10 discount

Posted by: CharlesH

E-mail from a company e-mail address and a signup on the Extranet was good enough for my B2B representative. Obviously, the proof of eligibility requirement differs with different companies. When you think about it though, it's VZW who should be concerned about eligibility, not the company. The discount is based on the aggregate personal employee lines + corporate (company-paid) lines, and the more people there are in this sum the more the company saves on the corporate lines. Why would the company care if a bunch of the employee lines included in their total are no longer employees?

Posted by: Soapm

What kind of discounts does Verizon give it's employees? I'm really curious.

Posted by: shelland

I work at Supervalu corporate - we get a 14% discount.

Posted by: Calisoldier83

Does anyone know the process of this? I sent in my fax on 11-18. I called to check on it in the first "3-5 days" which turned into wait "3-7 days" the last time I called it was "5-10 days" and supposedly there is "a lot of paperwork involved". Do they actually verify employment? With sprint and nextel it was just faxing over the ID to someone and bada bing you get your discount. Verizon seems a little bit more involved with it. There's no direct department that deals with this so how do I even know they received my fax?

Posted by: VZW Babe

The actual list is VERY long - all that you need to do if you are a VZW cust and you want to know if your employer is listed is call CS and we can look it up in our EWI inventory and tell you. In the MW if you are eligible for a discount you will then need to register for the discount through our Faxback process.

The more lines of service that are signed up under a particular company, the bigger the discount. Both personal employee accounts and company-paid business accounts are included in the count. The nice thing about the personal accounts is that the discount is just an option code on an existing plan that doesn't effect contract dates or anything like that.

Don't know if this is through the NEA or is just a discount VZW gives to all public school teachers...

Considering the 20-30% I see corporate employees routinely getting in this thread, 15% is a bit disappointing - but I'll take it...

This discount should take 3-5 days to be applied to the account! People stating 1month or whatever are wrong. I called after 3 days they said wait 5-7 days I called on day five they said wait 5-10 days. About the 10th days I got a helpful service lady that escalated the problem through a trouble ticket. The next day I had a lady call me who was able to directly setup the discount. I had to fax everything again two times. The second time she was able to process the information. That evening I recieved an email saying my discount was applied. I was so pushy because I wanted my first bill with verizon to be reasonable. Good luck to you guys if you have any problems PM me, and I could help you .

The percentage that Verizon offers in corporate discount comes down to the number of people signing up under that discount. The higher the number of Verizon customers coming from that organization, the more discount they will offer. Considering the pay of public school teachers, most of them are probably on cheapie Sprint or TMobile plans...

The discount applies to both monthly rate plans and accessories. I believe most people, if not all, receive 25% off accessories. Rate plan discounts vary company to company.

I just set up a discount thru the verizon website today. I found it from the Verizon "Phone's" page I think. A link said, Employee Discount....see if your company gets a business discount. I entered my Company E-mail address, then they sent me an email and I signed up for my whopping 6% discount that my company was eligable for. It signed me right up in 5 minutes. We'll see how long it takes to see my 6 %. What I wasn't sure of was the Terms that came up on the screen, it said I was subject to the ETF if I cancel my phone. I don't know if it means I'm on the company contract or what. I'll have to make a phone call to figure that out. But since I signed my new contract at almost the same time or Company went Verizon, my contract time is probably about the same. I don't have any plans to change wireless companies anyways, but I'd like to understand the potential for an early termination better.

OH, how do you enter the B2B site? I can't seem to find it once I logged off of it earlier.

My B2B rep says that the discount is just added as option code on any existing plan, and has no effect on any contract dates. On my bill it shows up as an option with a negative "charge".

Because some HR departments are clueless when it comes to the dicscount. Many of the discounts were negotiated by Telecomm Departments and the information has not trickled to HR or benefits. I work for a large school district. Verizon is the preferred provider. We have an 18% discount with them. However, we also have discounts with Nextel/Sprint, Cingular/AWS. I found out about the latter by walking into the respective corporate stores with my employee badge displayed and was offered the discount!

In some companies, the information is available from benefits or "employee recreation" (movie tickets and discounts).

And why not enter your e-mail address to find out?

Posted by: jlbrightbill

My last statement was meant as a suggestion. It doesn't always work for eligible people, or for people without e-mail accounts at their employer.

That said, "most" companies "should" provide the information and your B2B sale rep contact information. This would keep threads such as this one from happening in the first place.

I found out about the discount from my contact in telecomm. HR an benefits were CLUELESS as to the discount being available. What is relly amusing is that every fall, benefits sends out information on buying computers, iPods, etc via payroll deduction at ZERO interest and the price is 1.5 - 2 times more expensive. Yet, they claim it is a DEAL. I have asked them to put all available discounts (such as movie tickets and wireless) on the intranet, but have not made any progress.

Good Luck all!

If you sign up through the b2b website/extranet, how do they verify employment? Do they ask you to fax them a copy of your work id? Or do they contact somebody in your company?

anything for Alstom Power? (doubt it)

Posted by: BBYdude85

I emailed Verizon Wireless tonight and got a very quick response asking the question of whether or not my company (Anheuser-Busch) recieves a corporate discount with VZW. They only responded by saying that I should fill out an application.

All I am looking for is a numerical percentage. I also emailed Sprint and they responed by saying that it would be 20% percent.

Is there anyone that can look this company up for me?

Thanks for the help!

It depends entirely on the employer. Some posters have reported to having to go through all sorts of paperwork. In my case, I just went online to a VZW b2b site from a link on my company intranet and filled in my name, VZW phone number, and company e-mail address.

Wish I knew Cingular has it with FDS when I was with them, but I'm so glad I'm not with them anymore. Their service sucks here in East Central FL. VZ service rocks here. No dropped calls yet in 3 months. When I was with Cingular, it was dropped a few times each call.

Does anyone's corporate discount program via the extranet site contain the PDA/Smartphone data choice bundle plans? These are the plans that offer a combination of voice minutes and unlimited data at a reduced price for PDA/Smartphones. The regular verizon site will show them as plan options after you select a PDA/Smartphone but you must select the phone first. For some reason the Verizon extranet site for my friend's company don't have them lised.

Posted by: cowboys93

Mine does. After I check the link in the e-mail sent to my work address, I have the option of selecting a voice, data, or voice/data combo. If you select the plan 1st, you then selct a pda.

FYI, there are 3 bundles to choose from!

Hey, does anyone know if Verizon offers Employee Discount for the regular Verizon phone service and or DSL? I have regular phone service, wireless and DSL on a one-bill.. It would be great to get a discount on the whole enchilada!

Brad

Posted by: Playdeep

This discount would be applied to my wifes bill since we are on a share plan right? She is with B of A.....and i am planning on getting the data and voice bundle wiht the new 6700 once this never ending v710 trap is completed.

Posted by: DAVIDGR

IBM's discount recently increased from 21% to 22% for plans. No discount on phones that I'm aware of.

I am a volunteer EMT , and a member of the New Jersey First Aid Council. I was told I can get 20% off my bill? Can anyone verify this? And do I fill out the same form as the employee dicount?

When in doubt, call them up and ask. If qualified you will be instructed on how to apply for it. Usually the same form. Good luck.

It's IBM's way of making it up for killing the defined benefit pension plan.

IBM is actually on the 10k plus, they get the best discounts available.

Posted by: djjim

Not that I would ever join Cingular, but their website has a nice feature. You can enter your company email address and they will email you a link to a special page that calculates the discounts tou are eligible for. It told me I could get 14% off rate plans. I thought that was cool, Vzw should try that!

Posted by: mauricer1

they have somethign similar o ntheir b2b site, u put it ur email and it tells you if u qualify for discount or not. not sure of the link though buts i know its somewhere there, google it

No discount for me! This sucks..we qualify with Cingular and Sprint! Oh well! Such is life!

Posted by: nyktrex

The tool isn't 100% accurate because the company I work for receives 6% discount but their site doesn't reflect that I should receive a discount.

Go to a store or call the B2B group and they should be able to check it on InfoManager.

Please keep in mind that this e-mail validation tool for corporate discounts is usually only built off the "master" email address.

For example, I have two friends that both work for Wells Fargo, but in different branches. The one with the John.Doe@WellsFargo.com will bring up the discount, but the other Jane.Doe@wellsfargofinancial.com will not (even though all Wells Fargo employees get the (I think) 20% discount).

So, in other words, try the above link, and if all else fails try contacting your HR or call in to see if your employer provides a discount. Keep in mind your company name may not always be the "parent" company that the discout is listed under, eg Victoria's Secret is actually a member of Limited Inc.

Does anyone have the Vzw B2B direct phone number. I can't find it.

This true. I used to work for a school district. My xxx@lausd.net address yeilds no results on Cingulars online tool. However, my xxx@k12.ca.us address (which forwards), shows up as S. Cal MGt Dist I, and a seperate discount from what my real discount is. Having access to a FAN at the previous employer, I figured out who the rep was. He was surprised to hear from an employee. I tried getting the inforamtion from HR and Telecomm, without results.

I have seen others report this as well. In this, case calling B2b (VZW) or NBO (AWS/Cingular) or Sprint/Nextel Business to coax the information needed out of them.

Then, you should spread the word to your fellow employees via e-mail, bulletin board postings, word of mouth, or HOFO.

Just remember, the "rules" of the board and not to abuse the rules.

What would be nice is if the discount checker actually worked! I get a discount but I havent been able to have it applied because this stupid thing hasnt worked for a couple days now.

Just having the discount doesn't effect your contract in any way. You are still eligible for NE2, but off of the public 2-yr contract price, not the b2b price. You are not supposed to get rebates and such off of the b2b price, but if the "public" deal for some phone is better for you, you are free to take it instead of the the b2b deal, and still get your discount on the monthly rate.

nope. They give 25% off accessories. I was told it included equipment by the customer service rep, until I went in to get a phone and they pretty much laughed and told me the truth.

To set it up for military:

go the verizon store, fill out the form. they will require ur military ID and a copy of your orders. they fax it in, and you're all set. You can try calling it in and sometimes they will add it to your account, but not always cuz they need to verify and all that.

Just today the company I work for, Merrill Communications (Merrill Corporation) announced they struck a deal with VZW. 8% discount on the plan, 12% on data charges. Holla

Posted by: NHS2003

yeah we best buy employees get a nice discount

Posted by: knosh

depends on your region call cust care or any vzw store and they can look up the discounts each one provides and if its available in your market and which one is greater. you would then stop by a vzw store and show them a copy of your paycheck stub or a work badge *not name tag* and a photo drivers licence. they will have a form for you to sign an up to 2 billing cycles later your discount is applied

Posted by: nbkoontz

Here's another: Ball State University gets 15% off monthly service (unless you have FamilyShare, in which case it applies only to the primary line). Plus 25% off accessories.

Unfortunately, their website is outdated, as it still only shows discounts from Cingular. Verizon is a new addition.

Posted by: cozz36

I went in last night to use my company's discount of 10% off service and special extranet pricing. The rep told me that my wife (through the state of KY) could get a better deal. They get 15% off monthly and we got two e815s for $49.99 each. I am now IN...Nextel...Done!

What I did was call Verizon Wireless (611). They were able to look it up. I took maybe 5 minutes. I was able to get a 16% discount..

I really don't know how anyone here could help you unless they worked for those companies and already did the homework...

Thanks - I called 611 and after a few minutes on hold, the rep. gave me a fax-back number. Not really sure what I'm suppose to do with it.

Posted by: mojavekroc

I'm not sure why they didn't give you more info. You have to fill out a form and fax it back to them. They should have told you if you even qualify.

You can call and request form 1-866-425-5284 to be faxed to you or visit
www.verizonwireless.com/ryl to print it off the website. You have to show proof of working there either by a work ID or a pay-stub. You then fax it to: 800.7117788.

It takes a couple of billing cycles to kick in...

Maybe not, I filed for my discount, and I was told that it would be on my next bill. Not only that, I looked at my bill online, and they also backdated my discount. They gave me a credit on my bill for december and January bill, and my feb bill is coming out this week, so my feb. bill will have 3 months of credits on it, good deal. I did not know they would backdate the discount, but, I am not going to complain, they can give me all the discounts they want to give me.

Best Buy would get better discounts if they didn't give half the company a 3000 minute plan for free only cavet is you have to take vcast and pay for it. but I am more than willing to pay $15 a month for 3k minutes. If you're a manager contact your verizon rep and get in on the deal you get a free e815 as well.

The discount is based on how many VZW lines (either company-paid or employee-paid) are signed up under that company's name, not the number of employees in the company.

Had to go to:

http://www.verizonwireless.com/ryl

Print out the form
Fill it in
Fax it with your work ID or copy of your paystub

You can only send this form via fax. It only took a couple of weeks for me to get my discount.

Posted by: slouzon

I guess it depends who you ask?

At the store I was first told 5% than 8% than 15% which took 2 months to get. Because when I filled out the form I didn't but down a "home" number since I only have a cell.
Than I found the discount on the company site and it turned out to be 19% off primary line plan only and 25% of accessories.

I can also get 10% off Cingular and 20% off equipment, T-Mobile 6%, but I like Verizon has they have the best coverage & discount!
Not happy about them charging to transfer phone books to new phone and activating a phone when the other carriers only require switching the sim card!
But it turns out when I wrote a letter complaining about their changes they called me and told me I'm a "Merits Customer" and I don't have to pay? I still thing to be competitive it is hard for me to see how they can get away with charging for this?
Anyone want to bet they will make it so the only music you will be able to play on their phones some day is the music you bought from them!

The rep also gave us 25% off some accessories, but I dunno if that's standard or he was being nice since we'll be doing him a favor.
