After some tinkering with BitPim, I've finally got to upload some pictures onto the LG 6200 phone. I had some pictures from my digital camera, which were much better quality, and uploaded them to the phone.

The only thing that works on BitPim with the LG 6200 phone is the filesystem tab. Through this you can upload/download pictures.

Basically, I took a picture using the phone, and then over wrote the picture on the phone with a picture on my computer. The picture on the computer must have the same name, and should be about the same file size as the picture on the phone.

Now, if anyone has any idea on how to upload ringtones, that would be greatly appreciated. I'm guessing that I can use the same method that I did with the pictures to upload ringtones. I would like to know, what the directory structure is (i.e. to which folder should the ringtones be uploaded to).

It would be nice to get BitPim to work with LG 6200. If anyone can volunteer to send a complete backup of the phone, using the filesystem, to the BitPim developer, Simon C., he's willing to try and get BitPim to work with LG 6200... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VX5200Phone/message/687.

Thanks,
Ken

Are you willing to send a backup of your filesystem, if so I will work on adding support for this.
BTW I am Simon C

so is anyone working on the bit pim software for the lg 6200 from bell mobility. does anyone know when this software will be available?? thanks.

None of the bitpim developers have this phone, unless someone donates one or works with one of the developers it will never happen. If you are willing to work with me on this I can try to add support.

Heya Skyjunky; I'm willing to send you a backup of my LG6200's file system to help add support. I'll blank the numbers to 555-1234 etc to preserve the privacy.
I'm a developer as well and my free time is almsot non-existant but I'll work with you as much as I can!

Lemme know when you need the file sytem zip backup and I'll send it to you. If you need me to create an item for every category (voice memo, pictures, video etc) or something else lemme know as well.

I can get complete access to this phone but have no luck doing anything to this dang phone. I can get my pictures off, but nothing else.. randomly dropping MID files on the phone resulted in a "SERVICE REQUIRED" error that went away when I cycled the power.
