After a hard reset, all those custmizations are lost. Unlike with Palm, a sync won't restore your installations or tweaks.
It was just too much trouble, not to mention poor support for one-handed operations. It's a cool toy, but for the 3 days I had it, I spent way too much time trying to get it to work and way too little time actually using it. |

I never had to worry that I'd lose any data because of persistent memory. I don't even bother backing it up anymore. I've let it run out of battery numerous times, and each time when I plug it into the electric outlet, everything worked as before.
I'm not sure if others agree with me, but my experience with it has been pleasant.. |

The keyboard absolutely BLOWS AWAY the Treo's too. I loved my Treo, I still do, but I found myself using my Sidekick more & more, and I often would just leave the Treo at home & forward my calls b/c it was too damn frustrating to deal with most of the time. And after the last ROM update, battery life went to, well, you can imagine what word I'm thinking of here! I'm talking 60% by 9pm without even making any calls & maybe 10 minutes of web surfing. I ended up seeing the 6700 @ CompUsa, whom I conveniently have a credit card with, and decided to make the switch.
There are pros & cons to each device, but the 6700 edges out a little ahead in my book. |

In fact, I tend to disagree with many posters who claim that the Wizard's keyboard is that much better than the Treo's.
Yes, it is wider and they keys are larger. In one respect, that makes it a "better" keyboard. However, the backlight on the Wizard's keyboard makes it virtually useless in semi-dark rooms. For me though, ability to synchronize with an Exchange Sever is paramount. While Treo 650's have some limited abilities in this respect, they cannot be compared to the native Windows devices. Of course, once there is a Windows based Treo, this becomes a moot point. |
