National Access/Dial up minus Vcast = Nothing

For the last couple of years I have been able to use my phone with my Laptop and check email etc. I have been charged only air time and it was free on the weekend.

A while back I removed mobile web and was no longer able to connect with my laptop. A quick call to Verizon fixed that.

A couple months ago I got a new phone E815 and added Vcast still all works great.

Today I called and canceled Vcast and now when I try and connect with my laptop it does not. Says username/password invalid on server.

The rep mentioned they changed something in their system in September and said that I might not be able to connect anymore. Which seems to be the case.

So the question is, whats the deal? and what do I say to Verizon to get this back? Do I have to subscribe to Mobile web or Vcast to use this dial up feature? Did not have to before...

I did a search but could not find the exact answers...Thanks

if they took off vcast off your account chances are they didn't add back "National Enhanced Service Access" and/or "Premium Network Access."

Although you should probably only add back the national enhanced services and the premium is for evdo and you shouldent tether with it.

Make sure your phone has EVDO disabled. If you are setup for the 1x network, and EVDO is disabled (like it should be if your tethered), then the phone must also hae EVDO disabled.

okay how does one make their phone do ONLY 1x and not EVDO? I have an e815
