Crash?

So I am only about 5 days into owning a sidekick... evaluating if I should keep it. Anyway tonight I got the dying battery sound, I plugged it in and then about an hour later I went to make a call, and it would just say... connnecting... and then after a little bit it would make a noise and say call ended..i tried multiple times to different numbers land lines and cell.... I tried calling myself, and it went straight to voicemail, I had full signal, but the network was not connecting, the three dots were blinking around like it was trying to connect..... I tried my wifes t-mobile phone and it worked... so i powered off the sidekick and then when it started back up i was able to connect to everything and make calls... So my question is ... is this somewhat normal>>>> was this a "crash" what are the symptoms of a crash/freeze....

thanks for any info ..

Now a phone issue, I think it may be a problem with GPRS in your area. A reboot should fix it, or a soft reset (@,1,0) press those keys.

That happened to me a few months ago. The cell tower near my house was messed up. If it keeps happening call your provider & make sure they know about it.

Also what on average do people get as far as battery life?????

2 days is about all. Plan on charging nightly.

I have that dropped call problem regulaly. AFAIK it's not a phone issue but a tower issue - I have this problem in one location which seems to have a problematic tower. If I roll down the road a mile or so I can make calls fine without touching the phone.

As for battery life, if you stay logged into AIM or YIM all day you'll shorten battery life considerably. I get a day's worth of hard usage out of it, but expect to plug it in every night.

If I stay off of AIM I can get maybe a day and a half or so out of the battery.

Same here, i charge every day, and only use DATA, at the end of the day about 25% battery left.
