SE 910 & GPRS email?

I apologize in advance if this is a complete newbie question, but are people who are using the SE 910x using GPRS to send/receive email? If so, is it adequately quick to do so? I figured with the 910a + TMobile $5.99 unlimited Internet, this may just be the key for me... Please let me know!

Oooh yeah. I now use my desktop Thuderbird about every other or third day. the built-in email client for P910a is pretty good for general use. You can view most attachments (esp Word docs, Excel sheets and images) I won't say that I'll ever switch to it completely but it's generally pretty good. Watch out for Gmail difficulties though.

So just using the $6 Tmobile unlimited internet for this email is good then! $6 for email on my phone... this sounds very very lucrative!

the tmobile 5.99 internet is somewhat limited. get the 19.99 blackberry add on. works better

What's the difference between the two?

If what you want is email and browsing from your phone, then the $5.99 internet is more than adequate. If you plan on using the P910 as a Blackberry client, then you need the $19.99 BB plan. If you plan on browsing and doing other stuff through your phone (e.g. PC to Internet via Bluetooth) then you might find out that you need the $19.99 internet plan.

All I really want to do is check email (and maybe respond to one or two occassionally), check weather and most importantly, traffic. Traffic is horrible in and around Los Angeles and I need to be able to log onto www.sigalert.com in order to check my route(s) and see what's open. I don't really need to do Bluetooth/PC, but that may be nice every now and then. Besides, I thought I read something on here that a guy w/ a Treo was able to use the $5.99/mo plan and browse at 4kb/sec!

Anyhow, given my scenarios, will the $5.99 plan be sufficient? My Cingular contract is up tomorrow--T-Mo here I come!

Hmmmm...I've been using the $19.99 unlimited internet plan with my P800 / P900 / P910a for the past few years without issue. Sounds like you got a noob phone support person.
