(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Oh god...the reset button on the powerboard accidently got pressed halfway through V398>E1 ROKR! the fone doesnt charge, cant get into bootloader, and no lights switch on. fortunatly it wasnt my fone, instead my brothers lol and I told him this is a possibility...only I didnt tell him it was my fault.

Does anyone have any things they can tell me on how I could possibly get this fone back to bootloader or sumthing.

Really apreciate it! thanks!

Try flashing with RSD lite

Posted by: aze2learn

1) remove the battery
2) connect the cable
3) open your flasher prg (RSDlite/flashbackup or whatever)
4) press # and * while inserting the battery
5) When your flasher prg shows connected (no need to wait for any display on the phone) .. start flashing the .shx file again

Hope this helps

regards

ps : if this method doesn't work, you might need to force the phone into bootloader as described in this thread

Cataldo, is it working?

You could try using Moto Repair Studio (Demo Version) which can be acquired from:
www.motlab.com.
It's their limited demo version, but it saved my arse a couple of times. Once I had gotten up from my computer chair, not realizing the USB cable was around my foot and yanked it out of the phone halfway through a flashing process. I couldn't even get a display on the phone. I thought I now had a cell phone paperweight, but I tried the Moto Repair Studio demo, clicked on the "Repair" button and a few minutes later, was back in business. It basically erases the phone (Flash and Flex) and gets it ready for a reflash. After using the Moto Repair Studio, I then used MultiFlashFlex and flashed it with an unbranded (Motorola Factory) flash file.
So give it a shot, it will get you back in business as a last resort. (In other words, don't toss the phone away, it isn't dead.)

I don't want to make the impression of "smarty'pants" but as far as I know if the phone doesn't go into the bootloader doesn't that mean that the bootloader is gone?? And isn't that true that if the bootloader is missing u can use www.ebay.com??

might need to ground the test point.

Posted by: aze2learn

Hi all,

Using MRS is not suitable when the phone PDS area is all right .. you might loose your BT. Testpoint is only when there's no hope of reviving ... I would never suggest a testpoint unless it's necessary.

The bootloader area will never be overwritten in anyway unless you flashed it with a .shx that contains CG5 and BL code (or CG8) or having trouble while erasing doing a restore process.

so cat whats the status.. are those suggestions working? good luck .. try the hard boot.

Posted by: HawleyTronics

I meant use MRS as a last resort if you can't get the phone back.
I have used it without losing anything.
And if it comes down to it, it's better than losing the phone.

Explain how you would go about grounding the test point.
I must've skipped that day in science class when the teacher explained grounding was the same as shorting.

ok ok...well i followed the 'dead e398' post. i short a certain bit on the board and it gets it up in multiflashflex and pretty much any other program. only problem is...when I try to flash to anything...it says flash failed...some fail just after 'creating image' and some fail almost straight away. God bless the hofo community!

Boys and girls! We have a WEENER!
I apreciate all your help.
Once again, can I just say god bless the hofo community...oh yeah, apologies for the double post lol.

felixdd - thanks mate!

God knows why it wasnt working in the USB 2 port...infact Felix said NOT to put it in a hub, but I thought I'd give it a go plugged into the usb socket in my keyboard. AND IT ALL WORKED!!!!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

oh wait wait wait! Its flashing fine but when I try to turn the phone on, nothing happends. when trying to go into bootloader with pc cable in, the screen turns white but is still recognized by the pc and is flashable. only the LCD lights up. any ideas? I'm going to keep trying a whole bunch of other flashes in the mean time.

Posted by: Cataldo

geez! ok...ive flashed to BG rokr and for some reason the only way to turn it on is to plug the charger in first then press the power button and 2, it doesnt get any signal! oh god...anyone know how to fix this one?

Posted by: HawleyTronics

Wow, it was actually a simple problem with just trying a different USB port. Good going.

Posted by: Cataldo

Actually, all the stuff that I mentioned in my last post was fixed by flashing some random backup I found on my computer...worked a charm and now I got 43r on it.
thanks guys!
