PLz Help!! 903SH recharging issue!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: emerica

Sometimes the recharge light on my 903SH goes off just after a min or even less... and i am quite sure that it isn't recharging cause I always recharge my 903 with it turned-on... the battery icon won't flash when the recharge lite (little red lite on the side) isn't on...

And I have just discovered, from the IMA forum: http://www.ima-mobile.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13749 , that my battery is a fake one!!

oh my god... will the 903SH stop recharging automatically when the battery is full?? I am in Canada now... so the power input should be 110 volts, but does that really matter??

What is the problem and how can I fix it? plz help! I would be highly appreciated!

Thank you very much~!!

it's difficult to give you advice, since you already found out the battery is not legit.

the 903 constantly charges, but the light goes off when the battery is at max.

i hope everyone remembered to fully discharge their battery, and then charge for a full 6 hours before first time using.

you mean fully discharge on the first charge. then charge full 6 hours, then use freely after that. either way, the newest lithiumIon and lithpolymer batteries dont necessarily need these steps. the difference in performance is negligeable (i know i didnt spell that right).

Hey Kevbodian this might sound like a stupid question, but what do you mean by "fully discharge on the first charge, then charge full 6 hours?"

Posted by: echau

yan man: i think he means to use up all the battery before the first charge...then the first time you charge it...charge it for 6 hours...

but like kevbodian said...it's prob not necessary w/ new batteries

lamest shiet i ever read is your stupid post.

li-ion batteries arent terribly new either. get it right.

wow even lamer than before...how about contributing to this forum with usable material. new as in brand new not the discovery dumbasss.

Anyways back to the subject:
Li-ion batteries are not meant to be discharge at all, it puts more strain on the battery. Even if you do decide to "brake it in" for the first discharge, it will strain the battery reguardless. Also charging it everytime at 40% charge level and not leaving it out in hot environments is the best way to prolong the battery.

lol i dont contribute?

meh, on initial use, the li-ion battery can take the initial discharge. it is true that they prefer to be charged often but were only talkin about the first or second charge. anyways, the difference between these two methods is negligeable (i hate spelling that word, i swear it still looks wrong)
