changing "cingular" text on main screen of razr

On the main homescreen of the black v3 razr, it shows the name of the provider (cingular, in my case). I know there is a way to change it to whatever I want, but I'm not sure how. I got the plmn_text_table and changed all the "cingular" entrys(rows?) to what I want the main screen to say, "-jason-", but even after restarting the phone, it still says "cingular". What else do I have to do?

Motokit, as far as I know, only changes the date without doing any manual seem editing.

ps-i did back up the plmn_text_table file.

you have to change all the 'cingular's' in your plmn_text_table file. Not just one of them.

he said he changed ALL of them. When I get my replacement from Motorola, I would like to do the same so knowing the answer would be great.

get motokit 1.06...you can eliminate the logo with one click

thanks hagan, the text changed and everything APPEARS to be working fine. I did both of those seems, and restarted the phone, no problems. But now, at the top of my screen, there is an icon of what looks like a phone, with a number 1 next to it. kinda like the same phone icon that appears when you're in a call, except instead of the signal type things coming out of the phone icon, there is a 1.

any idea what it is?
