Hi! anyone and everyone! just have a question! Is it possible that I can use my hiptop for my data services and use another phone to recieve and make calls including text messaging? If so, please let me know. Also, Where can I recieve a code to unlock my hiptop.. Would I be able to contact my cellular provider and receive this lock code? Thanks for your information!

P.S. Please no smart comments! I have read a lot of the posts!

If you unlock your device to work on another carrier, none of the data services will work, just phone and SMS. Be aware of this - this makes unlocking the device pretty useless when it comes right down to it.

If you're a t-mobile customer t-mo will get you an unlock code after 90 days of service. They're actually pretty cool about sim unlock codes.

You can't use 2 SIMs with one phone number though - this is really ugly as far as GSM phone systems go, and its largely impractical to use. If you want, you can use a regular phone for phone service and use the sidekick on a data-only plan. the sidekick would actually have it's own phone number (and phone service on a per-minute basis) but you won't use any of the voice minutes if you just do data only with it.

What would be the point of two phones from the same provider? Other than to look cool?

Dude, just because the rappers have 93 phones coming out of their ears, doesn't mean its 'cool'.

OK i get what he wants... he wants to have the same number so when he texts someone from his sk and they decide to call back his sidekick is not gonna ring his regualr phone will. I ran into this problem when i had my sk. I personally just wish the sk2 was bluetooth and there would be no worries.

he said hiptop so im guessing hes with fido, not possible ,fido can only have one imsi per customer at the moment unless your PAYING for a second acount... then not only do u have a second imsi you have a 2nd BAN, and they cant be combined or seperated.. so you would need one phone line for unlimited city fido for voice, and another phone line for the unlimited hiptop data option which is $20/mo but you might need a minimum voiceplan of $20 to keep that BAN Active, or it wont work, see what i mean? not going to happen bro...

Bluetooth, Bluetooth!! Why can't the sidekick/hiptop be wireless. As previously said, it would make life a whole lot easier!! A couple things i'm upset about is how my camera doesn't work!! It becomes blank when the camera is activated but you can still see the flash when you take the pic.. IT PISSES ME OFF!!! it's kind of funny though!! lol but umm.. Also, I have Suncom wireless! I enjoy those unlimited minutes!
