hey, so I dropped my 9300b the other day, and messed the hinges up a little. it's not bad, but a little out of whack, just enough to be annoying. anyway, I took it out to the repair guy that we use, and he said the parts won't be available until the phone is actually (hopefully) released. I guess I need to know if anyone knows where I can get parts, or a water damaged/destroyed phone to salvage from. moreover, Nokia is so anal with their dummy phones that there isn't 1 useable piece on them, so that's not a viable option. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I dropped mine also and just handed it in to repair centre. They have now given up and had to send it back to Nokia for repair as it seems the hinges are difficult to get a hold of. So good luck with yours, io hope to get mine back sometime in the new year.

I had the exact same thing happen to my 9300. It got knocked out of my hand and wouldn't close fully due to the top hinge having become misaligned with the casing. I sent it to the Nokia service center in Texas and they were eventually able to fix it. It took about 6 weeks for them to get the parts they needed in, and for a while were maintaining that they wouldn't be able to repair it due to not having any qualified technicians on site. I was just about to give up and ask them to send it to me unrepaired when it arrived by Fed Ex as good as new.

Bear in mind also that damage due to dropping may not be covered by the warranty (which would mean a repair fee of $100 at least). If the hinge became misaligned during normal use it is more likely to get fixed for free.
