V551 not entering flash mode.

Has anyone ever encountered a 551 that does not enter flash mode? I hold down * + # + power and it does nothing. It is currently Cingular branded. Anyone have an idea of what to do?

just keep trying. it can be tricky getting it to do it sometimes. make sure the phone is off when you do it. try holding down * and # then push power.

Is there a definite way to do this? I'm a pretty seasoned veteran with phones... my V330 goes into bootloader no problem. I've never had this much trouble. Are 551's notorious for this? I mean, my 330 is R472 as well..

Try RSD lite. IMO it is alot better then PST.

the 551 and 330 are identical, i think, in everythign except looks. what do you need to put it in flash mode for? most flashing programs will do it for you

Dude. I am not talking about PST or RSD or MFF or any flash prog. That isn't the problem. I can't even get the freaking thing into bootloader. I hold down * # power and it does nothing. I have a V3, a V600, and a V330 and they all go into bootloader no problem. Does anyone have an idea? Should I edit a file or something?

Have you tried RSD? It puts the phone in flash mode for you.

I just tried RSD Lite and after it created an image file it errored out. Should I have the phone off or on?

WOW. I just realized, the phone was going into flash mode, it just didn't show it on the screen. Do all 551s go into "secret" flash mode like this? It's kind of a pain.

Not uncommon for the phone not to show bootloader mode. My old 505's never showed it.
