LG Phone Manager Software

Hi All,
I've been delving into some alternatives to BitPim and saw on a couple of UK-based sites that LG provides a Phone Manager CD when you buy the phone. I followed a link and downloaded the software, which consists of a phone mgr, sync mgr , media player, desktop and other things, including a driver dir. However, I think it would work better for me if I had the CD. I've unisntalled the drivers (Prolific) that I use in conjunction with BitPim, but my Win2K PC continually re-installs these prolific drivers.

I guess what I am getting at is if anyone knows how to obtain a CD. I've left a msg at the LG support center and we'll see what happens there. But does anyone know of an alternative.

I've been driven to this (lsited on other posts) by the fact that BitPim won't handle Outlook Task import for transfer to the phone. The LG software looks nice ;-) but I cannot connect to the phone. The correct drivers aren't installed and I hope the cable I have will suffice. Sorry to ramble.

Thanks in advance,
Earl

I don't know specifically about your phone, but from my experiance and everything else I've seen, the UK software is not fully compatible with US phones. I have an LG C2000, and I have been able to get the PC Sync program from some of the UK download packeges to work, but none of the other media transfer programs (such as Contents Bank, which allows transfer of wallpaper, pictures, ringtones, Java apps, etc). LG seems to be leaving out in the cold here on this one. I'm almost ready to go get a Nokia!

I use the UK software for my L1200 phone and it works. I can download and upload pitires, tones, but i cannot download java apps. It keeps giving an error message. I really dont know much about drivers, but I figured it out through trial and error. edv, this link may be useful http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/404631-1.html
and you could also download drivers from your PC manufacturers website. I download adrivers from www.toshiba.com cos thats the make of my pc
