I'm looking to get a new phone and reception matters because I have horrible reception in my house. I'm looking at the nokia 6102 and moto 557 and am leaning towards nokia reception wise ... but anybody got a rec?

i would say nokias get better reception then motos.

Too broad of a generalization. This used to be the case two years ago. After using several Nokia, and latest Motos including Razr and E680, I would say, I have not used a phone with Cingular that gets better reception than the Razr. My Nokia 6230 used to get good reception as well, but not like the Razr. This phone is unbelievable for reception.

The Razr is not as good as:

Nokia 6010
Nokia 6230

well.. i used a lot of phone this few months. This is what I own.
Moto V3, Motorola E398 (quad band mod), Nokia 6230, Nokia 6620, MPX220 and A630
friend's phone : SE Z520, SE S710a, Nokia 6682 and Rokr E1

the best reception is V3, Z520, E398/E1 and 6682. 6230 don't get signal in the place which V3 got 3 bar.

I used both a Nokia : 6230 and a Moto : Razr. Based on my experience, Razr gets reception in places where the 6230 won't get reception. So for me, Razr has been the best phone for reception, hands down. Your experience may vary. But, my other friends who have the Razr, are very happy with the performance of this phone.
