Hi guys!

First off, want to give a huge general "Thanks!" to this site, and all of you who have contributed in some way to these discussions. Always come here to find answers to my questions - an amazing resource. Thanks guys!

Bought a V710 a little while ago. Appalled at Telus for crippling this great phone so badly. Didn't take me long to flash it. : ) Anyways, the new firmware has opened things up and added some functionality, so that's great.

I'm using the latest firmware - or at least I think: "07.TELUS_1X_1.0F.2P_phone.shx". Anyways, at first txt messaging and web browsing didn't work (got these "Network down" messages) - thought for sure I messed up my phone for good. Turned out I hadn't applied the 'flex' - for those of you who are having the same problems, apply the flex and you should be fine.

However, Telus TV no longer works on my phone. For those of you who aren't sure, Telus offers live streaming TV to your handset. That is, apparently, if you haven't flashed your phone. It worked fine before, but when I flashed my phone with the latest firmware, it stopped working. Won't let me download the TV application from Telus' wap site - gives me messages like "Handset is not supported". Brutal.

It's a cool feature. If you're ever waiting for anything, flip on your phone and check out the latest news or even the latest hockey game (err, for us Canadians : ). I'd really like to have that functionality back. Telus won't help me, of course - they won't even flash my phone back to the original firmware if i send it in!A

Anyone know of a fix? Or if not, anyone know where I could retrieve the original Telus firmware that came with my handset?

Did you ever end up geting the original firmware? I installed the Verizon flash on mine and none of the web apps work.

I have a theory that if I keep a certain ringtone on my phone then swap to the factory flash, I should be able to use it as a ringtone.

Either way, if you find the factory flash, please let me know.

Crazy -

See above - that firmware I mentioned is hacked Telus firmware. Do a google search or head to inetron.com and download it. Apply the FLEX also, and things will start working for you. Including your web apps. You'll know it's flexed when you've got Telus logos and features showing up again.

As far as the original un-hacked Telus firmware, no idea where to get that. Hope it gets leaked soon. Give it some time.

hey i have a v710 also and had a problem witn flashing my phone... got file from same site and i flashed it but damn thing wouldn't let me flex it.... said phone was locked???

Yeah, I had to enter an unlock code too. it was really basic. I think it's 123456 or 12345 or 1234, or 11111, or 00000.

Something along that. not tough at all.

I got my phone's wireless web to work after flexing the phone, the only problem is that I still can't download the TV program. I couldn't before and still can't. Just goes to "games coming soon" on my screen. I think I had an old V710 firmware since I got mine so long ago.
