Can't update MM-9000 firmware

It appears that there is an updated firmware level available for the MM-9000, either 1.011SP or 1.012SP, but when I go to Tools/Update Phone, I always get back a "No firmware update available" message.

I'm at the factory install level of 1.007SP, hardware level 0102.

Has anyone starting at 1.007 been able to get the phone to update its' firmware?

Perhaps not being able to find updates is one of the bugs fixed in the later levels of code?

Be nice to avoid a trip to the local Sprint store, if I can.

Well, Sprint still says that the current level is 1.007SP, but I just tried the update again and received 1.012SP.

The only thing I did differently this time is hook up the power cord to the phone.

watch using the 9000 as a modem. a standard vision package will not cover it. with any ev-do phone, sprint will ALWAYS know if you are tethering. and 99.9% of the time they will charge you the per kb fee. that = huge bill.

you used to be able to get away with it with non-power vision phones, not now apparently.

to avoid fees grab the 40$ data pack add on. thats the only way to do it... seems like quite a few people are uninformed about this...
