Looks like I won't be able to take advantage of the current Christmas promotion, since the phone I want won't be out before I leave for vacation.

Thus, when can we (historically) expect the next significant promotion to happen? Valentine's Day? Some unspecified day in the future (i.e.) whenever Marketing decides it's a good idea, or in retaliation to a Telus promotion?

Also, is the Christmas promotion usually the best one of the year? (I suspect so...)

The xmas promos will be hard to beat, however the celluar industry is always growing you never know what will be available in 4-6 months.

A few months ago, when there was lots of talk about the new Audiovox phones, I was hoping to choose between the 8500 and the 9500 when they both came out. Right now, it looks like only the 8500 will be out in time for the Christmas promotion. On top of that, I'm leaving for the east coast Friday night, so there appears to be a very small window of opportunity to get a phone with the promotion. Realistically, how much is the promotion worth, if you had to buy the phone and contract at "list" prices? Do you know how much (approximately) the 9500 will be more than the 8500?

i don't know how much the 9500 will be, but the 8500's regular price is $219 less rebates...so it would be an additional savings of $40 over regular rebate amount, but keep in mind that with the new low in store pricing, you are only paying tax on the $79 and not on the $219 price, saving you a little extra $$.
