Sorry if this has been asked before... I looked and didnt see anything but can any of the voice reccordings you make on the phone be used as a ringer?? And if so what program would I need to do this with?? I have bitpim, cmx studio, kpd 3.2, still waiting on my cable though. Sorry for all the questions this is all new to me.

Thanks, in advance

No, that is not possible on the Soho. Infact, my recommedation is to get rid of the Soho, they're junk.

I see you have a V265. My wife has that phone, and I have a Soho.

I find the two phones to be quite comparable...in fact there are times when my phone works where hers doesn't, and times when hers works and mine doesn't.

The displays are about a tossup. I don't find the V265 display to be at all sharp, and neither one is great in bright light.

The V265 feels plasticky and cheesy, I think the Soho has a much more solid feel.

The buttons and controls on both are so-so.

The browser is a little snappier on the Moto.

Speakerphone on both is slightly better than a joke unless you're in a quiet room. Forget doing what you can do with any Nextel/Moto, that is, put it on the car seat next to you and use it.

Just curious, in comparing these two phones, where do you find the Moto better? Or perhaps you don't like the 265 either?

When will Verizon put out a phone with a really good speakerphone???

Actually, there might be a way to convert voice memos to ringers. You'll need a cable though, and I don't know what kind of quality you'll get:

1. Use QPST's EFS explorer (search the forums) to grab a copy of the voice memo file from your phone (.qcp format)
2. Download PureVoice Converter from Qualcomm. See this great tutorial here for the link: http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...threadid=620434
3. Drag your .qcp file onto the PureVoice Converter executable file. It will convert the file to a .wav file (which should show up in the folder after you've dragged the original file).
4. Then you'll need to convert the .wav file to a .pmd file which the SOHO apparently recognizes as a ringtone. See this tutorial on how to do it:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...t=soho+ringtone
5. Use QPST to copy the ringtone to your phone.

I have not tried this, since I don't own a SOHO. This is all taken from posts here at HoFo. Let us know if it works!

See, most of everything I strongly disagree with. I work for a local regional company, and I didn't choose to have the V265, it was given. From the majority of the calls regarding the V265 v Soho, I can assure you we have many more Soho issues than V265. Infact, we probably have more Soho issues than we do Motorola problems. Right now, the Soho is probably about most "problematic" handset, as we usually get atleast one call a day regarding the ringer going out on the thing.

Look, I'm not arguing with you, but from my experience as a technician has really swayed me away from the Soho, and even Kyocera for that matter.
