LG 1500 Money Sign

Just wondering if anyone knows, the LG 1500 keeps popping up a $ symbol on the screen. Not too sure what this is. If you remove the battery & sim card and put them back on it disappears. I assume they are doing something on their phone to cause this. If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated : )
