yeah pretty much any resized gif/jpeg 240x320 will work. However there is a animted gif size cap, if it exceeds it I shows "unsupported content" on the screen I believe.

if you guys missed the link, HERE is a website I found with a bunch of very high quality walls that look amazing on my d600, should look great on the t809 as well...

edit: btw that "weird toast animation" is from a Junior Senior video; it unfortunately won't play the entire way thru on my d600, only one piece of toast goes up and down over and over

Not sure, but I vaguely remember someone mentioning that the animated wallpapers can only be about 15 frames or less and that is where it will stop and start over again. Any frames after the 15th one won't even be shown. So you may need to think about removing some of them (i.e. every other one or 5th one) to get it under 15 frames.

Yes, the resolution is called QVGA so if you google for "QVGA wallpaper" you'll find a bunch. Also pocketpc themes are .tsk files that are just archives w/ the wallpaper embedded. You can open them up and extract the wallpaper with winzip and rename the extensions back to .jpg/gif/bmp(whatever the original file was).

Since my brother just got the new Samsung SGH-T809, I am starting to make him some full screen animated wallpapers.

I'm personally using Adobe Image Ready 7.0, resolution of 240x320 optimized .gif format. This particular screen is 64 colors and 7 frames, but animates very nicely on his phone

Quick details of what I did. I downloaded the trailer from apple.com. Drag and dropped the trailer into image ready. Selected the portion of the video I wanted to make the wallpaper, used the option "every other frame". I was forced to remove alternate (every other) frames until I got the animation small enough (under 300k) to work on the T809. Once I got the number of frames and colors right, I saved the .gif out, loaded it on the phone, used file manager to select the image and set as wallpaper.

Remember, the final output image has to be LESS than 300k in size, or the T809 will NOT recognize the image as valid.

Simply right click image and choose SAVE AS...

Nope, our N90's suck!

NO ANIMATED BACKGROUNDS FOR US. phonethemes.com (i think it is) has animated themes, but they don't work on the N series (neither my N90 or my wifes N70). There is also a program called YEWNES (i think it is) thats supposedly adds an animation overlay ontop of your backgrounds, menu's, etc... like a dancing girl or something like that, but I tried it on one of my Nokia's and it didn't work, and I saw screen shots, and it wasn't ANYTHING like this

so I gave it up.

Have you seen the "mobilegirl" app? I had forgotten someone had given me whole bunch of .bk3's from the virtuagirl desktop app, so I tried it on my N90 and it works pretty good! I just wish it could run as an overlay or as the wallpaper itself.

Question for you though, i have image ready 7 but have never used it. I tried to import a mpeg but it didn't work, do you know what file formats are supported or if there are any plugins avail for AIR 7.0 that allow mpegs?

Secondly, when I import an AVI the picture doesn't show up..its just a blank white screen

any ideas?

I think I may have figured out how to get an AVI to work, just trying to see if I can do mpegs also or wmv's without having to use another program to convert them to AVI first.

I made them for my Samsung D600, all wallpapers are 240 x 320, perfect for fullscreen use.

If you want a wallpaper in a different color or for a different Samsung phone, reply with what dimensions or color you want.

I think that would require "dumping" the fimware and manually replacing the image they have in the firmware with your own. Then flashing the modded firmware back on the phone.

Sounds too complicated and could render your phone a brick if the flashing process goes wrong.

Actually flashing the firmware is fairly simple- at least it was on my E715. I'm sure at some point someone will develope the software to extract and modify the firmware... Alter the slider tones, message tones, present ringing tones, etc.

I appologize if this has been asked else where. I know samsung has had some really nice animated screen savers on their phones in the past. Does anyone know where I could get those? I understand that the size needs to be the same but I didn't know if someone had extracted them from the phone or knows of a place to download them. The animated screens that I am referring to are the ones that came factory with some older models. I just don't have the models on hand at the moment. I have seen them in the sprint store or phones that friends have owned.

Does n e 1 know if you can set the vibration to right simultaneously with the ring tone? or does it always have to be a trade off? the only option I see is for the vibration to come and then the ring tone.

The max frame amount is 15 for a wallpaper & the max file size is 299kb for any animated gif image. Nice one though. I'm pretty sure you can make as many frames as you want as long as the file size is with in the 299kb limit but if you want to use it as the wall paper it will only play the first 15 frames of the animation. Does n e 1 know if you can use animated gifs as picture id's?

ok so this was my problem:
for those of you who are trying to make their own wallpaper and are getting distorted images you have to set it to Progressive.

This can be done by going to File > Save for Web in photoshop and on the top right, check Progressive.

Really? mine is the same as with static wallpapers. I mean lets face it the T-809's battery life sucks period. I'm lucky if I get through 2 days out of one charge.

I croped the one with the white at the top and the bottom so that the gun barrel would show. It still looks good on the t809 cause the status indicators use the white space.

Hi there, If you go to www.zedge.net and register with them for free you can find the wallpaper under "free wallpaper".choose "your phone" then under "category" choose "humour", then "find" it is on the second page.

Most of the pics I do are pretty much 2 times as big as 240x320 (480x640) so when you scale them down to that size nothing is ill-proportioned. If they come from a wallpaper size like 1024x768 you just have to crop the section you want and do a little experimenting so it doesn't stretch the image. Takes a little trial and error but it all works out in the end once you keep trying.

The Hyori wallpapers are great, but just keep in mind, try not have have the eyes so close to the top of the screen, cause on the D600, the time/date bar will cover up the eye level on most of those pics.

yeah, i noticed the same thing when I set them on my phone. A lot of them are gonna be like that because that's the way the pics are. Anybody have any suggestions for this fix?

YEah, i Do agree with that statement. Its sad because i've got so many wallpapers of her but can't use any. because of that bar up there.
