Best phone to use with Cingular Wireless?

I have finally made the switch from tmobile to cingular wireless. Hopefully i will not get any more dropped calls or missed calls anymore. But to be positive I would like to know which of the phones that cingular offers are the best for reception and battery life? I have already purchased a family plan (2100 minutes) and they let me choose a phone that values up to $250 or i pay the difference if its more expensive. I am debating whether to get the Razr. I hear its an excellent phone but its really thin that its really uncomfortable to hold up to your ear.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on which phones to get?

Thanks!!

Yep! You can't go wrong with a Nokia 99% of the time.

i have not had a very good experiance with the V3 and Cingular. The reception (at least in my area) is poor compaired to my Nokia 6230.

Best reception and battery life : anything Nokia in my opinion. Even if they don't have a great look or feel, they just work

Moto V3 / V551: Not bad. I have a Blue V505 and it works pretty good - once I 'seem edited' it, it works great. A couple of issues with the Moto V series:
1) Low handset volume (requires seem edit)
2) Poor quality calls when using AMR-HR codec (I also noticed it on my NEC 525 as well). Seem edit also fixed this - forced AMR-FS codec

I have to admit that my Sony Ericsson Z520a has worked very well for me. I have had it for a week and the reception is excellent, the volume is nice and loud and the battery life lasts a very long time with the Li-Polymer battery.

It depends really on what you need in the way of a cell phone. Do you want just the phone, or do you need PDA-type functions? In addition. what features are you looking for? For just the cell, NOKIA is one of the best. If you want a flip phone, then one of the Motorola phones might be better. For the PDA, I recommend the Blackberry 8700c.

Also the reception in the areas you will use it most is important. I like Cingular, but here in my house, I have very poor coverage. Not that its a big issue since we have landlines and Verizon cell coverage.

With tmobile service i used an unlocked v551, v400, and the v600.

I was interested in MP3 Playback maybe with memory card. A Flip phone that has long battery life and good reception. I currently Live in Morris County, Montville.
I was looking into the MPX220 phone.. I might be interested in this phone because of its expansion slot. Can anyone comment on thsi phone?

Thanks for your responses!

For me, RAZR has been the best for reception with Cingular service. It gets even better reception than my Nokia 6230.
Reception with Razr is just amazing.
