I'm Looking to get ringtones on my cingular x-497 ive tried sending them to my email n then getting them from there on my phone but it didn't work any ideas????

Sup guys. My mom has this phone. I'm gonna play around with it tonight and see if I can figure it out. That's a great phone by the way. I like it better than my V3. Only thing missing is a camera on it.
As of now, I'm pretty sure you can buy a cable and a disc with the software necessary for transferring files onto the phone. I'll see if I can get it sorted.

Check the samsung website for software. Doesn't this belong in the phone sub-forum anyway?

you cut your mp3's with itunes or audacity...usually ab 15 seconds.

with itunes you dont have to convert but I used fairstars audio converter
and convered the .wav to mp3 and it made the size alot smaller.

u then use a website called imserba wap uploader...u can then upload ur clips on there and download to ur phone.
if u dont have a medianet plan on ur phone it cost .01 cents a KB so a download is ab 100 kb so $1 dollar to get it.
or if u have a plan it is sweet and doesn't cost much.

anyone have any other ideas but this worked for me
