Changing the Operator Logo for Nokia 6101!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey everyone. I have finally got rid of my 'Rogers' operator logo from both screens of my Nokia 6101. I just thought I'd share it with you all.

I'm using a DKU-5 data cable and MobiMB Mobile Media Browser v3.1. You can download the free trial version of this program at
HTML Code:
http://www.logomanager.co.uk/download.php
. There are some limitations but you can still use it to change your operator logo.

First connect the phone and establish your connection to mobiMB. Once the program has found your phone, go to the 'Gallery' folder.

Click on 'Photos' in the sub directory and all your pictures in the phone should appear.

You should have already downloaded a blank operator logo onto the phone by now but if not you can just drag it into your picture section. I used this one and it worked fine:
HTML Code:
http://www.freemobilefun.net/wallpapers/v/7698/blank-operator-logo/128x160/

Once you have that, click on the file name (blank-operator-logo) and then go to the 'Actions' menu. Scroll down to where it says 'Use As' and click on Operator Logo. If you right-click on the file name it also says 'Use As' but that is only for the full version of the program.

That's it. So easy. Enjoy.

thats cool, not really new news though, but ive managed to do it a different way, by sending a blank op logo through OTA through the network, and the phone still received it, the only difference is i didnt have to save a file in my phones gallary.

.. i was looking for sum info on doing this ! ..i will try this as soon as i get home ..the stupid operator logo is sooo annoying ..and will this also get rid of the damn date ..that shows on the middle of the screen

Posted by: karma007

i got rid of the operator logo ..thanks so much ..

but the ****ing date is still hanging around ..can anyone suggest something to get rid of that ?

Posted by: prashtp

To get rid of the date is easy.
Just go to the Menu - Settings - Time and Date - Date - click on 'Hide Date'
It should then say "date hidden"

Hope this helps.

I just did exactly what you said, downloaded the logo and everything but it does nothing. Still wont go away. When I go into the phone the select operator logo its greyed out so I cant select anything. WHen you try it says "No Operator Logos present" Please help me. Phone is unlocked but was a T-mobile phone to begin with.....I hate thier stupid logo in the middle of my picture.........especially when I pay $160 for a phone.

Did you use MobiMB with the data cable or infrared/bluetooth? Or did you just save the blank operator image onto your phone? It should work.

Posted by: frog12

I used IR connection.

Posted by: frog12

Went into and and selected it as the operator logo. But on the phone that option is greyed out and it says no opereator logos found.

I went to www.jhonny.org/wap and entered code "1", downloaded the operator logo, saved it, and it worked like a charm. i have a 6101 with tmobile service. I also now have the option to turn the operator logo on and off, as to where it was greyed out before.

Worked perfectly.

Worked a treat through IRDA. Thanks guys. Also, using other "use as" features, like menu wallpaper, does that work with a 6101, is there any risk, can it be set back to default, and what works?

Thanks

I'm assuming you have a 6101 and you saved the download.
Now go to menu>settings>main display and make sure "operator logo" is "ON". This turn on the blank logo you downloaded.

I tried to move the blank logo to Images, Graphics, Wallpaper, Clip-art, Screen saver folders but the option to turn the operator logo on i still gray out under the Settings > Main Display...

anyone else got an idea to solve this ? I do not have any cable or programs, just a free 6101 found layin on the street.

I didn't use this method you're trying, but I believe the OP did.
From his post it appears you need to go to the folder where you saved the blank logo, click on the blank logo file to open it, click options (or actions), use as, Operator Logo.

Maybe the OP can come back and clarfy this if I have it wrong.

Figuring that the 3220 is the same phone (basically) as the 6101 (other than the screen size) I just did this same trick and it worked! Thanks!

I am using Nokia 6030.I am also facing the same problem as to how to change the operator logo.I did the same thing as you did-went to www.jhonny.org/wap and entered code "1",downloaded the operator logo, saved it,but still I can't use it as the operator logo. The option to turn the operator logo on and off remains greyed out {as well as the operator logo remains there as it was} and whenever I click the option it says "no logos found in phone memory".Please tell me if there is a way out.I don't think Nokia 6030 supports a data cable.

It could be your carrier which doesnt support it.. IE: MVNO's such as FIDO/Sprint/Primus/7-11 Speak Out, dont have a home network, so they are roaming, so they may not support Operator logos because operator logos generally require your carrier to have a home network with the same MCC/MNC programmed into its SIM cards (ie: NOT Roaming). I feel like I'm constantly repeating myself, as I've mentioned this before and no one read it. Oh well.

Also, in California T-Mobile and new Cingular SIMs are "roaming" as well. The operator logo will only work on old AWS SIMs and old "pre-merger" Cingular/PacBell SIMs (unless the new Cingular SIMs allow switching the "home" network from 310-410 to 310-380).

1. Menu>Web
2. Go To Address: reallyboom.com/?12
3. Phone should make a "Message recieved noise."
4. Close the Browser and the menu.
5. Should say "Operator Logo Recieved"
6. Accept the message and save the logo...
7. I don't recall if I had to set the operator logo "on" or if it did automatically.

I was looking for the blank operator logo and came across my post from almost a year ago, sweet.

or wait untill the mcc/mnc being broadcast in california changes back to 310-410 like it did in other parts of your state.
