I have pretty muched figured out this i870 inside and out the only thing I have not been able to figure out is most likely the easiest thing on the phone, however I am stumped. I can put ring tones on the old school way through webjal however this takes forever and I can not put mp3's on through that program. When I put mp3 on my memory card I can use them in the phones mp3 player. I have not been able to put a quality ring tone on this phone yet in mp3 format. I have noticed that this phone will not let you use a ringtone at all unless it is protected media. Maybe I am justbeing stupid but I have figured out the videos the wallpapers you name it I just cant find a easy solution for the ringtones. If any one knows how to use a mp3 ringtone from the memory card please help me out, thanks alot.

The only way for an mp3 to be a ringtone is in a certain format which is 48kbps, 8000hz, 8bit mono. It has to be loaded as a ringtone thru webjal. Easiest way to make the ringtone is dbpoweramp.
Go to my site http://i870.org and navigate to the mp3wav ringtones and try one of them. They are already converted to the right format.

Any other questions, just ask.

adding them as we speak. I could just put a whole directory like the other files but then you won't have thumbnails and would have to look at each one.

I was able to use a program called Anvil Studio to convert MIDI files to MIDI-0 format, and successfully play them on my phone. But I still can't assign them as ringtones, even after copying them to the phone from the card. In this case is a program like WebJAL required?

Yes, you have to use Webjal to load ringtones. You can't do it from the sd card.

hey guys i have read the post and i have bluetooth on my computer. can i transfer that way or do i have to use webjal? thank you.

Its spelled out pretty plainly, but you obviously haven't read much. You cannot transfer ringtones via bluetooth, only by using webjal.

Refer to the stickies in the software sub-section for more information on using webjal.
