Any of you w600i owners have any issues with the camera? I can't tell if it's scratched on the lens or not, but right out of the box the pictures are all distorted. At first there were lines in there, now the colors distorted.

I can't think I did it, but they had already popped in my new 64k sim so it's possible they did...but this early?

Anyone else run into this? I tried cleaning it to no avail.

As my own follow up, the video capture portion works just fine. But picture quality is non-existent.

It could be that you have the camera "Effects" menu selected as "Solarize". Try turning on the camera, click on "settings" then scroll down to "Effects". Select this and see if it is set to "Solarize" instead of "Normal".

I had checked that and rechecked. It was set to normal. Every other setting works fine, but the normal picture part doesnt.

Ugh...I understand why they do this, but it is frustrating that they're going to charge me for another phone when they send me my replacement and won't credit it until they get the old one back.

I completely understand, but it's an annoyance that they say it can take up to 2 billing cycles for the credit to appear.

where did you purchase your phone? the more i think about it, i wish i'd bought mine from the cingular store instead of online. i hope i don't have probs with mine!

I got mine online.

I don't think it really matters where you buy it, you stop dealing with the store the second your service gets activated on the new phone.

If it's within 30 days of purchase (even online purchase) you can just take it with the receipt to a store and they'll swap it for you with a brand new one.

Oh, and does this have the CCD camera or CMOS? I really like my s710a camera, and was thinking about switching so I wouldn't have to carry my iPod around all the time too.

the W600 has the CMOS camera, not CCD.
