So I'm looking for a new phone, and I see a picture of the Audiovox CDM 8500 on Bell Mobility's website, and thinking it looks interesting, I decide to check it out on Audiovox's website... Only it's not even listed there. I searched around on google, and didn't find anything that mentioned the phone, so I turn to you guys for help.

Basic info. What features does it have?
Anyone own one?
What do you think of it?

Go to the audiovox web site, and search for products. Use CDM8500 no spaces. That will bring everything they have on the phone up. good luck.

p.s. if your a u.s. cellular customer do not get this phone.

PROS
-feature rich, all the features a regular user would want is included. Don't know about data users as no B/T
-menu system is pretty easy/intuitive to use, like a Nokia
-excellent looks, better than v60, A460,
-nice, compact size, good for factor
-build quality is pretty good, buttons feel nice, w/ good feedback though a little small
-okay pricepoint, comes w/ a belt clip

CONS
-questionable RF, compared to a Audiovox 9100 and Nokia 6190, though way smaller
-HORRIBLE sounding, earpiece is just BAD. Audiovox cdm8200+9100, Nokia 6190, Sammy A460, A500, Moto V60c sound better!!!
Difference is very noticeable, i suggest you try a live phone and compare before trying it out
-ringer volume not loud enough, vibrate is weak
-backlight weak in sunlight, barely visible, and screen seems really dark

If you have the virgin mobile one the ring tones are actually very loud, the loudest I've heard on a polyphonic phone

I'm curious. Why do you say 'do not get this phone'? I just signed up for US Cellular and picked the 8500. Had problems, so traded it in. I'l love to know what problems you've had.
