Both are made by sharp i beleive and seem to be more advanced than the v903sh Vodafone. Does anyone know about them?

they are nice if you live in japan. heard they got 2.8" screen. 16:9 videos instead of 4:3 would be nice.

SH901iS looks the best in my opinion. Too bad we can't use it.

SH = Sharp
SO = Sony

Yes, they are both great phones, but they don't use GSM, no no chance we'll ever be able to use them.

DoCoMo's FOMA 902i lineup

The new gimmick is the PTT function, which is available on the entire line-up, in-line deco-mail, toruka, which strengthens the Felica Wallet function, among other things.

This cycle release consists of 6 models. (SH)arp, (SO)ny, (P)anasonic, (N)EC, (F)ujitsu, and (D)=Mitsubishi.

Sony's marks their first 3G model release for Japan.

D, F, N have already been released, P is out on Tuesday the 6th. Sharp is Friday the 9th. Sony, is completely unknown but rumors are point Mid-January to February release.

The 90X series all have 2.0+ megapixel camers, now all come with felica (saifu-keitai, a IC chip that lets you store money and pay for stuff at convient stores, Tower Records, etc) the ability to play "SD-Audio" (mp4, 3g, etc) stereo and 3d functions, blah blah.

In the 902 series, D, N, F have 4 megapixel Auto focus cameras. (actual 2.0, capable 4.0) SH, SO have 3.16 AF cameras (actual 3.16) and only P is 2.0, without autofocus.

They all have their points.

D (Mitsubishi) has the aforementioned 2.8 display, on a slide-stick style. They've really slimmed up the the body and is very very thin. However, I believe that unless you make the videos 16:9 to begin with, it crops the videos when playing full-stretched.

F (Fujitsu) is all security, with fingerprint security fuction.

N (NEC) has a 4.0 megapixel camera, with Te-bure, which I've been out of the states too long to know what the equivalent function is, but it's that thing where it adusts for camera shaking for clear shots. And it has full browser function. Unlike the imode browser, you can surf regular sites.

P (Panasonic) Bluetooth, pushing it's music playing capability. Also has changeable faceplates and different lighting patterns.

SO (Sony) the first stick style Foma, with white key leds, and so on. Unfortunately, this one is late and doesn't look to be completely finished as there isn't much info.

Last up, Sharp. I'm debating on going and getting it when it comes out, but even with a new contract it's looking at 33,000~38,000 yen. Sharp has generally been the most expensive of the Foma lineups.

the style is sexy on it.

It has Veilview Mobile ASV for the screen, which means when people look at it from an angle they see a graphic design then what you're doing. A new light sensor now detects the amount of light and adjusts LED backlight to save battery power, admittedly Sharp's worst area, battery power. Supposedly this allows it to run 40~80% longer then previous sharps. I have to take my charger to work now with my SH901iS to charge it twice a day almost, but then again I'm a heavy user.

They've added multi-task function, which has been present in D/P/N/F up till now. You can now surf imode, check and write and send mail, and call at the same time. They've upgraded the music player function, which works with the multi-function.

It supports up to 1GB Mini-SD cards, for movies and mp4s and what not. They've added Te-bure, or the prevent camera shaking function for the movie recorder at all sizes.

Lastly, they've included the full-browser this time around, with the ability to check mail and download attachments.

Of course, it has the same stuff as before, the ability to read and open PDF's/excel/powerpoint/word. Now you can download them from the web as mentioned before. IC card for portable wallet, PTT function, the new i.CH (I-Channel, news ticker type function) multinumbers on one phone, video-phone, and so on.

Yes it's very sexy.

And as mentioned, the only maker that has GSM phones that are usuable abroad is vodafone. So no way you can unlock it. Anyways, for more info, and pictures, just go to the website, SH902 Web display

There you go, any questions, just throw them my way.

I got the 901iS about 4 months ago and I'm pretty happy with it, although I do like the new D902i, it's sexy!

You can download the manual for the 901is here

Edit: Just realized this was about the new SH902i, whoops... There almost the same anyways (I think?)...
