Well, I've pretty much totaled my phone, any advice?

i somehow managed to break the LCD on my S710a(Pics http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...t=785253&page=1 ).

Sony Ericsson wants $200 to fix it, or I could buy an LCD screen from germany for $100 and try to fix it myself.

Now, here's the problem, $200 is what I paid for the S710a to begin with, and on eBay new ones seem to be going for around $270, just a bit off mine.

I could suck it up, pay the $200 and have a phone guaranteed to work, I could pay the $100 and take my chances, or I could maybe go with something new.

I don't think we're going to sign another contract, as the only place we'd go is T-Mobile, not too thrilled with Cingular's plans.

If I sold mine on eBay how much do you think I could get? It's fully functional, but the LCD's useless

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

cross posting is bad

Sorry, I do not consider this a cross post.

I'm simply trying to get a different opinion.
