I was wondering how do i change my alpha tag on my phone
when i go through nam1 and do it, it tells me that that feature is locked

NOTE: You are not reprogramming the phone. You are telling the mobile that the public system is a private system. When the phone registers on the public system, it thinks that the system is private and will use the alpha tag programmed for that private system. The 'P' icon will be at the top center of the display because of this. When you are traveling it is possible that it will display the original alphatag if the sid of the system is different. For instance in Georgia the Sid is 4101 but in NY it is different. So in Georgia, it will be your custom alpha tag with the 'p' icon and in NY it will read AT&T
