Treo 650, Profile manager/Call Filter trials - TROUBLE!

Randomly, once a day, my phone alert volume is turned OFF.
Im trying to figure out why this is happening and how to stop it from happening.
Its off in preferences/ application
hone/ Sound Mode On/ Alert Volume: OFF.
From my understanding, its not possible to press a button accidentally to turn the alert volume OFF. Even if you use the volume controls on the side it will just lower to 1 and never OFF. How is this happening?
Is it because my call filter trial expired? is there a bug in my phone or profiles ? this is a very important problem please help me resolve it. thanks

btw, under my profile settings in profile manager, the sound settings box isnt checked. meaning it will not ovveride the settings on the phone.
