I want to buy a SD card for MPx200. Will any SD Card work or is there something particular I should buy? What is the max limit for MPX200?

you need an MINI SD and I think 1 GIG is the limit.

any brand should work I have sanDisk and PQI

Is this a good one? Does the speed matter that much? It claims it's twice as faster than SanDisk.

Were you referring to MPX200? I noticed you have MPX220 but I'm inquiring about MPX200.

I have a Kingmax 1GB SD card that works great in my MPx200. I'm not sure what the max limit is on the MPx200, I've read 1GB is the limit, but it might be even higher than that.

I figured they would both use the same MINI-SD

I've found out that MPX200 uses SD and MPX220 uses MiniSD. Someone in another forum told me that MiniSD will work on MPX200 with SD adapter.

well my MINISD comes with the adapter, I thoufht MPx200 used MINISD like MPx220

I think buying MiniSD is the best choice since it comes with adapter and will work with SD Card devices.

That's what I'm going to do. Anyone know the maximum size MPX200 can take? I read it's 1GB but someone on another forum said it'll work with 2GB+.

I only buy mini SD cards so that I can use them in all my devices (phone, PDA, camera).

I dont think the speed really matters. Maybe for a camera you would want a faster card so that you can take pictures faster. I have a 1gb mini SD from Sandisk and and a 512mb PQI mini SD and they both work perfectly.

Danshin - I, too, would only go for MiniSD since you can use it with any SD device (with its adapter). BUT, if price is an issue for you right now, regular 1gig SD cards are going for $40 (Black Friday prices) while MiniSD cards are an additional $25-30.

Also, it's been my experience that devices don't have card max's - their manuals just list the card max that is available at time of writing.

Hope this helps

Dom,
Are you saying that 2GB+ will work on MPx200? What is the largest MiniSD available currently? I don't mind the little bit of price premium to obtain reuse with other future devices. Thanks for your input.

Danshin - I don't want to mislead you and confirm that a 2gig SD will work in the mpx200. Honestly, I don't know.

What I DO know is that a 1gig miniSD card works fine in my 5600 even though its manual lists a lower max. What you have to watch out for is how efficiently your phone reads the card. While smartphones are powerful devices compared to other phones, they're only as powerful as the processors within them. As such, an mpx200 isn't going to read a 2gig card as quickly as a 1gig, and so on. And if you try to use the phone's File Explorer program, it'll take quite some time to open up a music folder that has 2gig's worth of music on it.

All I'm saying is - card max's aren't set in stone, rather I view them as what my device can handle so that it works for you and not against you.

What do you need 2gig's for? Music? App's?

Dom,
Thanks for the clarification. I probablly don't need 2 gigs.

Have you any thoughts on this Topram MiniSD. It claims it's twice as fast as SanDisk MiniSD. Would this speed improvement make a difference in devices like MPx200 or others?

I have only used Sandisk, so I can't really answer your question, but I got this link off their site (btw, Sandisk works fine for me in my phone and in my digital cam). Anyone else on this forum have something to say about TopRam?
