Most of you wont understand that, but today at a pressmeeting in Oslo with Nokia, they confirm n-gage is not dead, and Nokia will realese 2 n-gage games each month in 2006.
Most of this we know, but I thought it would be a nice update, and also that the press dont think n-gage is dead.

thanks to THEONE for the info

I think 9.27 was saying in his thread that the N-Gage as an individual handset is definitely dead. The fact that new games will be released was not part of Nokia's press release about the N-Gage being discontinued as a handset.

games are not dead. the n-gage device is no more ngages

Well, I had been thinking that the next smartest thing that nokia to do would be to give a new gaming phone a completely different name. N-Gage is too slandered across the gaming world, so something new and cool would do well, imo.

The games aren't dead, and the arena still has thousands of people talking on it, and they keep doing tourneys (like the one in my sig), so they may not be manufacturing any more for the US, but it's community isn't dwindling imo.

Nokia's interest is fixated on developing the N-Gage idea into a software solution for the future smartphones. I don't think we'll see a new gaming phone for some time unless it's viable to combine other new features into it such as 3G network features.

Think they will allow the smartphones to connect to the Arena? If they don't then they may just concentrate on single player games, and there wouldntt be any more good competitions.

dont think so..even if they do, they still cant beat companies like sony (psp) and nintendo (ds)

2 games per month for 2006 is pretty cool. Keep them coming!

At least that portion of the Nokia gaming aspect is still doing well. If there is enough demand, Nokia *may* reconsider their plans to cancel their game phone plans.
