MPX220 - USB not recognized ???

I bought an unlocked phone off ebay. The manual and software is in some other language. The phone says it is version 4.21.1088 . The Phone works fine but I get a message saying the usb device can not be detected. The connections are secure. Any ideas?

Have you installed Active Sync? I think the newest version is 4.1, you can download it from microsoft's website.

yeah, and when it got to the part where it searches for a connection, it didn not find anything. When I plug the USB cable into the phone, I hear a little beep so I know it is connected good. It is just that my CPU won't detect the phone.

Forgot to mention, I have a mpx200 also. I plug it into the usb and it detects it find and activesync starts immediately........figure it would do the same with the mpx220. I wonder if it could be the data cable. Everything is brand new though.

Finally got it working. not sure what I did

I did have to change some settings in Norton Internet Security. I rebooted and after about 5 minutes of the phone being plugged in, the cpu detected it. Yay !

not working again. It is charging on the USB cable so I would assume the cable is good...
