BTW: Someone requested "LOW" ringtone... this was originally a .mid (midi) file, so I converted it to .aac, .ogg and .mp3

I increase the volume to the point of distortion. If I were to make them any louder they wouldn't actually play louder, just distorted... thats been my experience. I also equalize them to reduce bass - since your (any) cell phone speaker can not reproduce bass anyway.
You can use any audio program to increase the volume levels, but you'll find the same to be true... louder doesnt mean they'll be louder on the phone- just more distorted.

Its from a samsung (I think) - its a mosquito buzzing around, then the guy slaps down and kills the mosquito

I tried too. I couldn't find anything and actually played the nrt file, if I can find a player, I can convert the tone to .aac or .mp3 or whatever you (or anyone else wants)... I'll see if I can invest a little time to find one.

to my knowledge, the N91 tones have not been ripped yet... the way I understand it, the N91 has a VERY buggy firmware/os verion right now, and most S60v3 themes do not work (though they should) and many apps do not work, like feexplorer as thats what is used to pull the tones from the handset
Long story short: I don't have them - and I personally don't think they're currently (6/13/06) available.... if someone has them - PLEASE POST THEM!

Looking through my bag of tricks... I found 2 files called "RING RING"
Well thats not true.. I found a RING RING and a RING RING RING.
Since I wasnt sure which one was the one from the N80.. I'll post them both - per request.

Actually I've got a few old-school nokia ringtones in .nrt format that I'd love to get in either mid or mp3 but no way to convert them..

yup.. indeed - Nokia Ringer Tone (.nrt or sometimes only ".rt") ... some of the older (pre-mp3) phones used that format, but since I don't have a nokia anymore I can't do much with these and I was wondering if it's possible to convert them somehow.

The only suggestion I can make... I think the app was called LOGOMANAGER??? as I recall that was how to put in those old .nrt files on like 8290's and stuff like that.

Hmm.. Yeah, I just tried the multimedia converter (nokia) and then the sound converter that comes with the pc-suite package and neither open the nrt files. It seems that sound converter is supposed to open .nrt files along with .otb and .ota files but it doesn't (I get an "unexpected file error").
What you're describing there is an RTTL ... I didn't think of the nrt as that - I always thought .nrt's were offshoots of midi format, but I'll give your suggestion a try.

Oh I googled alright.... Nothing around. A search for that file type doesn't produce much of a result. It seems that nokia doesn't like releasing much info on their brand of file either. Their software won't even open up the files.
Oh well... so much for all that. I think I'll just give up at this point.
