SMS bitch

When sending SMSes, the GD88 saves the message in its Outbox folder. Is there any way of turning this function off? It's handy if you want to send to muliple recipients, but why couldn't they have used the Nokia method of showing the previously sent SMS when selecting the "Create" SMS item?

Especially since the GD88 doesn't provide any onboard storage for SMSes...grrrrrr....

I do not know of a way to shut that off, but you can setup the mobile to automatically delete messages when it fills and you have new incomming messages....two modes, delete read messages, delete oldest message.

I hear that GD86 will be the first in family to offer MS memory storage for SMS messages. That is the pretty blue one that I had posted a pic of a few weeks ago. Also GU87 will have it in April timeframe.

Back to the original question, how do I get mine upgraded?

Usually Panasonic service centers should be aloud to do that upgrade, is what Nokia,Erixsson, siemens,Alcatel do here in Europe.

That maybe but it is not usually done in the US. It requires more man power than the current system and would mean processing more phones. That being said, it will be interesting to see if they put such a system in place to serve the domestic market.
