SP5 Owners - Notification Light?

One of the few things I liked about my (almost sold) Wizard was the option to blink the notification light after receiving a message. I know this option doesn't exist in my WM5 upgraded SMT5600, but is it possible on the SP5? It's just so convenient not having to pick up the device to check for new messages. Surely this is possible on WM5 Smartphones?

This feature is just as dependent on the hardware like it is on the software. To put it simply...if it doesn't have the notification light.......then you won't have that feature. Its not a missing feature in WM5...its just that you have to activate it in the registry.

Ok... Is your answer a riddle?

My SMT5600 has a light. Can it become a notification light? If so, where do I activate this in the registry?

Does the SP5 have a notification light that can be activated in the registry?

The Wizard's light is multi-purpose, similar to the light(s) on Smartphones. Because of this, I'm assuming a notification light is possible on the Smartphone, as you seemed to indicate, but I still don't know the answer to my question!

I don't know the registry key. I do know that the SMT has a notification light and it works fine with WM2003SE and there is a registry key in WM2003SE that controls it. I am assuming the same with WM5. If its not there you maybe able to add it.

The SP5 has a notification light and its already activated. Why wouldn't it be? Its just like the light on the Wizard.

This feature is dependant on the manufactuer. Some devices have it, some don't. For the ones that do, it should be working unless you messed it up.

Does anyone know the registry key that enables the notification light on WM2003SE?

Even though I own a Wizard, and am purchasing an SP5, I didn't know the light on the SP5 was the same. Should I have known?

I can tell you with certainty that the original AT&T branded SMT5600 doesn't have a notification light (as we're discussing...for new messages)...and I didn't mess it up....

Odd...I had a ATT branded SMT...got it when it first came out and the notification light worked just fine. It maybe disabled on yours....don't know how but its a possiablity.

I am speculating that they are the same. You could always go to www.clubimate.com and look at the specs.
