P910a video problem

im a fairly new P910a user. i have a bunch of music videos and movies and things. and i want to play them on my phone i have a PSP that plays mp4 files but the same files i play on my psp wont work on my P910. is there some settings in the video files that need to be set so it plays on my phone. the phone just says unable to play video. someone please help

I use Smartmovie and it works well, you can download the trial at handago.

Videos encoded for PSP are usually 320x240 @ 25+ fps, 250k bit rate. The P910a's processor simply can't handle these parameters... they're just way too high quality for that model of phone. You'll have to transcode the videos to match the phone's hardware. I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head, but they were something close to 192 x 168 @ 10fps, 128k bit rate. I normally use VirtualDub with Apple Quicktime Pro to perform my video conversions for the P910a.

i got smart movie every time i try to encode a movie it crashes. im not sure what to do i cant get movies to run on my phone at all. is there anyone who can help me. i have programs for my psp that work fine but they dont work for my phone. i dont know what settings to use.

You might have to contact the authors of Smartmovie to see if they have a solution for their product crashes. What kind of PC do you have? I transcode with a dinky 2.5ghz P4. Apple Quicktime Pro does a fine job at creating MP4 files my P910a can easily play, so long as I tone down the numbers to 192x168 resolution (I use virtualdub for video resize), around 150k bps, and 22.5k mp3 stereo sound.
